We began our day with our circle time where we went through some basic rules such as: walking quietly on the hallway, hold hands with a buddy, how to use the washroom and always follow the teacher on duty, which most of the time is me. :)
Then JKs practiced lining up, they did a good job for their first time.
We had snacks in the class (only today, we usually have in the cafeteria). For their morning snack, JKs are encouraged to eat their fruits, yogurt, cheese...anything healthy.
After gym, we had our calendar time and I explain how the "Special Helper" works. Everyday someone will be the special helper.
Then JKs had recess outside. Please feel free to send your child with shorts, it is very hot these days.
In the afternoon we completed an activity about our names where JKs used stickers to decorate their names and play dough afterwards. We had a chat about how to use the play dough as well. :)
Next, we had our second recess and lunch/snack. After that we read books and finished the day with French class and pack up to go home.
I just want to thank you parents, for making the drop off quick. :)
I'll be sending a detailed email over the weekend about our term 1 activities and curriculum.
