Fun Friday!

Today is day 6 in our rotation so we began the day with music class, right after we had gym class and morning calendar.
After recess and lunch, we had our daily five - listen to reading. We listened to a couple of Bob books.
Next, we had our fantastic Gr. 5s reading buddies.
Then JKs presented their show and tell on their favorite book.
After second lunch and recess we had centers and prize box!

Happy Thursday!

We had a great day!
Morning Circle Time - JKs participated in our circle time where the special helper put the number on the calendar and counted, checked if Johnny had the proper outfit for the today's weather and as a class we sang our calendar/morning songs.

Preparation for the Spelling Bee – today all students had the chance of spelling a short word in front of the class. I did help some friends who needed assistance.


Recess and lunch
Daily Five - read to self - JKs practiced their silent reading in order to build stamina. We practiced the following: stay in one spot, "read" quietly and "read" the whole time.

Language Arts – today we wrote something we like to do with our family. Take a look:








Math – today we used playdough to make small, medium and long snakes. Then JKs used blocks to measure how many blocks long were the snakes.

Preparation for the Spelling Bee – we continued playing the spelling “game”. During the game we practised the rules of the spelling bee. Students are asked to say the word before spelling, spell, and then say the word again to indicate he/she is done. We also talked about not saying the letter twice when spelling.

Language Arts –  we used magnetic letters to build words with a partner.

Preparation for the Spelling Bee – we played a spelling “game”. During the game we practised the rules of the spelling bee. Students are asked to say the word before spelling, spell, and then say the word again to indicate he/she is done. We also talked about not saying the letter twice when spelling.

Math – we continued with our lesson from yesterday about the story of Goldilocks and Three Little Bears. Today JKs were encouraged to cut and paste sorting by size.

Math – in math we begun a new unit on measurement. JKs listened to The 3 Little Bears story and then made popsicle stick puppets. We talked about the sizes of the bears (small, medium and big).
