Happy Thursday


We had a great day!
Morning Circle Time - JKs participated in our circle time where the special helper put the number on the calendar and counted, checked if Johnny had the proper outfit for the today's weather, added a popcorn to our 100th day of school counting and as a class we sang our calendar songs.
Snacks - JKs were encouraged to eat their healthy snacks.

Jolly Phonics – we reviewed the letters learned so far and sang our new jolly phonics song for the week which is letter J.

Recess and lunch
Language Arts – today we completed another page of our journal.

Poem Practice – skills observed: student stands up straight, looks relaxed and confident, establishes eye contact with the audience throughout the presentation. Student speaks clearly and distinctly, effectively uses intonation and expression throughout the presentation. Student is creative using actions related to the poem.

use their creativity while developing their imagination; they also develop emotionally and cognitively. Centers time promotes social learning and support students as they develop skills of self-regulation.

Language Arts – today we introduced journal writing to the JKs. They were encouraged to copy a short sentence from the board. We went over the instructions for journal writing such as follows: begin the sentence with upper case and continue with lower case , use finger spacing and end the sentence with a period. They all worked hard and were proud of themselves!

Math – in math and UOI we explored all our nature items for our summative project. Thank you parents for contributing. JKs made patterns using all the items. Tomorrow and Friday we will make a pattern and glue on an small easel.

Language Arts – we dabbed all Js on our paper and also dabbed the sight word: little.

Math – we worked a little bit on numeracy by looking at the number and colouring the correct amount on the 10 frame.
Next we worked on a mitt pattern. JKs applied what they know about patterns by gluing colorful strips of paper on the mitt.
