Happy Thursday

We had a great day!
We started the day off with an Anti-bullying assembly. All students from JK-Gr.6 watched a video about it and drew/wrote a message on a t-shirt. The older grades helped the JKs.






















Morning Circle Time - JKs participated in our circle time where the special helper put the number on the calendar and counted, checked if Johnny had the proper outfit for the today's weather and as a class we sang our calendar/morning songs.
Snacks - JKs were encouraged to eat their healthy snacks.

Jolly Phonics – we reviewed the letters learned so far and sang our new jolly phonics song for the week which is letter Y. 

Recess and lunch
Language Arts – today we practised writing uppercase and lowercase Y.
Math – in math we talked about the shapes we see in different modes of transportation and then we practiced tracing and drawing the 2D shapes.

use their creativity while developing their imagination; they also develop emotionally and cognitively. Centers time promotes social learning and support students as they develop skills of self-regulation.

Happy Snowy Wednesday

We had a great day!

Recess and lunch
Language Arts – we worked on short words and focused on short vowel sounds. JKs had to complete the missing letter in short words such as map, cab, pen, net, log, fox, bug, sub, lip, bib.

Then we completed an activity where they had to cut and paste the 2D shapes according to the number of sides.

Jolly Phonics – we reviewed the letters learned so far and sang our new jolly phonics song for the week which is letter Y. We have been also listening and learning some new songs which deals with short words and sight words. Here are some of the songs:

Language Arts – today we wrote in our journals. JKs were encouraged to finish the following sentence: "My best friend is _____." First we read a book titled "Stick and Stone" that talked about friendship. Then we reminded ourselves how we write peoples' names with first letter upper case and the rest lower case.

Math – today we color code the 3D shapes and then used 2D shapes to create pictures.

Math/Language Arts/UOI – today we sorted pictures of different types of transportation and put them in our class board. JKs learned new names of transportation and sorted them into land, air and sea.

Math – in math we continued with our morning activity about transportation. JKs cut and paste the different modes of transportation into the correct category.

Fun Friday

What a great day! Love to watch my students' eagerness to learn!
Today is fun Friday!
We started the day with morning circle time, gym class and arts. In arts, students learned about lines as they create a colorful picture using a variety of lines. They learned the names of different kinds of lines such as straight, zigzag, wavy, dotty, curly...and then they had the opportunity to paint with the primary colors within the boundaries of the lines they created.




























Right after lunch and recess, we had literacy centers. JKs worked on beginning sounds and short words.










Next, we had show and tell presentations.
After second lunch and recess we had centers.
