Morning Circle Time - JKs participated in our circle time where the special helper put the number on the calendar and counted, checked if Johnny had the proper outfit for the today's weather and as a class we sang our calendar/morning songs.
Snacks - JKs were encouraged to eat their healthy snacks.
Gym Class - we had gym outside. After playing tag, we got a bit distracted and started making a house/habitat for the snails we found on the sports court.
Daily Five - we read to someone.
Recess and lunch
Language Arts/UOI – today we learned about animal classification. We talked about insects, amphibians, birds, mammals, fish and reptiles. We took a look at the characteristics of all the groups. Then JKs completed an activity where they had to cut and paste sorting animals which had feathers, fur and/or scales.
Math – in math we counted the stars in each group, wrote the number in the box and wrote the sum in the last box. This is an exposure to addition.

Centers – during centers time, JKs use their creativity while developing their imagination; they also develop emotionally and cognitively. Centers time promotes social learning and support students as they develop skills of self-regulation.
