Happy Tuesday!

We had a fantastic Tuesday!
Morning Circle Time - JKs participated in our circle time where the special helper put the number on the calendar and counted, checked if Johnny had the proper outfit for the today's weather, added a popcorn to our 100th day of school counting and as a class we sang our calendar songs.
Snacks - JKs were encouraged to eat their healthy snacks.

Pumpkin Investigation Part 1 - JKs had fun estimating how many seeds we will find inside the pumpkin, how many lines are on the outside and how many lego blocks tall is the pumpkin. They also described the outside of the pumpkin.
Recess and lunch

Pumpkin Investigation Part 2 - we counted the lines and measured the pumpkin using a non standard measurement tool: lego blocks. Then we opened the pumpkin and each students had the chance to touch and describe the inside of the pumpkin. Then we separate all the seeds from the guts and counted the seeds. This investigation was a preparation for the science fair taking place in a couple of weeks. To finalize our investigation we looked into the life cycle of a pumpkin and completed a cut and paste activity to help us remember the how pumpkins grow.
