Inquiry Minds in Action
These children are always surprising me with their ideas!
Today we started learning about 2D and 3D shapes. As soon as I finished explaining, I gave students 3D shapes to build anything they want. A group of children said that they would draw first and then build! I loved to see that! What a great way of showing their thinking skills!

Morning Circle Time - JKs participated in our circle time where the
special helper put the number on the calendar and counted, checked if Johnny
had the proper outfit for the today's weather, added a popcorn to our 100th day
of school counting and as a class we sang our calendar songs.
Snacks - JKs were encouraged to eat their healthy snacks.

Jolly Phonics – we reviewed the letters learned so far and sang our new jolly phonics song for the week which is letter V.

Language Arts – we worked on beginning sounds. JKs had to look at the picture on their paper and circle the letter they heard at the beginning of the word.
Math – we finished our pattern presentations. Next we learned a new song for our geometry unit and looked for the shapes (2D and 3D) in our classroom. JKs the built using 3D shapes.

Book Fair - we visited the book fair and made a list of things we liked. The list is in your child's agenda. If you wish your child to purchase the items listed, please send the money in labelled Ziploc bag.

Happy Friday
Today our day was a bit different because of the in class poem presentations. In the morning JKs had circle time, snacks and gym class. Next, we practiced our poem one more time before presenting to Ms. Fisher and Ms. King. After lunch and recess we presented the poems. Everyone did a great job. Some JKs were risk takers for speaking in front of the audience. Public speaking is not for everyone!
Next we had to shake our sillies out because we spent too much time sitting.
Then we had some time with play dough and cutters.
After second recess, which we could go outside (yeah!) we had snacks, show and tell, French and prize box!
