We had a great day!
Morning Circle Time - JKs participated in our circle time where the special helper put the number on the calendar and counted, checked if Johnny had the proper outfit for the today's weather, added a popcorn to our 100th day of school counting and as a class we sang our calendar songs.
Snacks - JKs were encouraged to eat their healthy snacks.

Jolly Phonics – we reviewed the letters learned so far and sang our new jolly phonics song for the week which is letter X.

Language- today is day 6 which means in our rotation is reading buddies day! JKs enjoyed reading books with the Gr. 5s. :)

Math – in math we used geoboards to make shapes using rubber band. Tomorrow we will continue.

Happy Valentine's Day

What a fun day!
We started the day with the Jump Rope for Hearts. Then we had a snack and decorated cookies with the awesome SJA Parent Guild!
Today we finally could have outdoor recess, everyone had fun! And no worries, everyone was all bundled up to go out!
After lunch JKs participated in math activities using the "candy hearts". I actually couldn't find candy hearts at the store, but found something similar. :)
Then JKs had show and Tell and distributed their cards.
After second lunch and recess we had centers and we also had the chance to see Ms. Smith's bunny.

100th Day of School - we were encouraged to colour 100 polka dots using 10 different colours of crayons.

Recess and lunch
100th Day of School  – we used the 100 chart to count 100 popcorn. We did sanitize the tables first. :)

100th Day of School – we talked about if we had $100 what would we do with it. Most of students would buy toys!

Language Arts – today we used play dough to for the uppercase and lowercase W. For early finishers they had the challenge of forming short words such as wet, wig or why.

Math – in math we looked into the shapes and sang our 3D shapes song. After that we completed 2 activities where we cut and paste shapes into the correct category.

Fun Friday

We had a great Friday!

Recess and lunch
Language Arts – today we used shaving cream to write letters and/or short words and right after we had literacy centers. The literacy centers involved working on beginning sounds and matching uppercase with lowercase.

 
Math – today as part of our fun Friday, we had math centers, involving some skills such as patterning, sorting and measurement.
